Epicanthoplasty
Epicanthoplasty
Removing the epicanthal fold for refreshed, slightly larger eyes
Beauty Story Clinic aims for scar-free epicanthoplasty in which the surgical scars are not visible. We design medial, lateral, lower, and upper epicanthoplasty to fit each individual's eye shape, and combining it with double eyelid surgery can maximize the eye-surgery effect.
About
Here is what makes Beauty Story's epicanthoplasty different
Scar-minimizing, virtually scar-free epicanthoplasty
We create refreshed eyes with medial epicanthoplasty that leaves no scar worries. Lateral canthoplasty is a suitable method when the outer corners of the eyes look closed off, delivering results when you want the eyes to look more open. The surgical method is relatively simple, but the extent to which lateral canthoplasty can be performed varies from person to person, so ample surgical expertise is required.
A very small scar forms on the inner side of the eye and is barely visible from the outside. It makes the eyes look long and refreshed, and it is even more effective when combined with double eyelid surgery. Because it prevents adhesion, the recurrence rate is low, and it can create appealing eyes by lowering the outer corner and extending the horizontal length of the eye.

FAQ
FAQ
How do medial and lateral epicanthoplasty differ?
Medial epicanthoplasty removes the epicanthal fold covering the inner corner of the eye to correct a closed-off, heavy-looking eye, while lateral canthoplasty makes an incision at the outer corner to open up the look of the eyes when the outer corners appear closed off.
Can I have it together with double eyelid surgery?
Yes, epicanthoplasty can be performed together with double eyelid surgery. Performing medial epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty together can maximize the eye-surgery effect.
Will there be a lot of scarring?
A very small scar forms on the inner side of the eye and is barely visible from the outside. We design based on each individual's eye shape and use fine suturing to reduce scar concerns.
When can I return to daily life after surgery?
Cold compresses are needed for about 2–3 days after surgery, and for about a week, please refrain from wearing contact lenses and false eyelashes. Sauna use and strenuous exercise are possible from 4 weeks after surgery. The degree of recovery varies from person to person.
