FAQ
The pain-reduction technology (vibration function and cooling system) has been greatly improved, so it is less painful than CPT. However, because high heat is delivered throughout the dermis, there is a hot sensation and tingling, so it is performed after applying plenty of numbing cream.
You feel a slight tightening right after the treatment, and over 2 to 3 months, as collagen regenerates, the effect peaks around month 6. The results usually last around 1 year.
Ulthera uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to lift the deep fascial layer, contracting sagging tissue and inducing collagen production, and is recommended for those concerned about sagging skin and a collapsing jawline. Thermage, on the other hand, is a tightening treatment that delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy to the dermal layer to contract stretched collagen and induce new collagen production, and is effective for improving fine lines, reducing pores and refining texture, and increasing skin elasticity and density.
Because the skin around the eyes is thin, the treatment uses a small eye-dedicated tip (Eye Tip) and an eye-protection shield, and Eye Thermage improves fine lines around the eyes and drooping eyelids.
Radiofrequency energy has little tendency to destroy large amounts of fat, so the concern about cheek-hollowing side effects is much lower than with Ulthera. However, if the energy is not controlled skillfully, fine burns or swelling can occur.
Thermage tips are sealed as single-use so they cannot be reused. You can confirm this by directly scanning the QR code on the genuine-product authentication sticker on the box.
From the late 20s, when collagen decline begins, people receive the treatment for the purpose of preventing fine lines and maintaining skin density (early anti-aging).
Yes. There is high preference for combined treatments that create a dermal collagen environment with Thermage and then fill in hydration/regeneration with Rejuran, or combine skin boosters to also address surface fine lines, and there is a synergistic effect.
Because there is no damage to the skin surface, there is almost no downtime other than redness and a faint warm sensation on the day of the treatment. You can wear makeup and wash your face right away.
Because the skin has been thermally stimulated, staying hydrated, washing with lukewarm water, and using plenty of moisturizer and regeneration cream are essential, and we recommend applying sunscreen to avoid UV stimulation.
